Neighbourhood nature, Morvik-Mjølkeråen

The neighbourhood communities of Morvik and Mjølkeråen are ordinary types of landscapes along the fiord in the northern part of Bergen. It is a dwelling area for a number of people, with their houses and gardens. Deciduous forests are found along the coast, as well as small bays and rocky shores. The topography is rather steep, and to the east small mountains raise to just above 300 m a.s.l., e.g. the mountain Geitanuken. The flora and fauna is rather varied, with flowering plants, lichens, mosses, mushrooms, insects, other evertebrates, birds and mammals. Examples are shown in the gallery.
