Straumen på Inderøya i Nord-Trøndelag er kjent for ærfuglene som om vinteren holder til i den sterke tidevannsstrømmen. Jeg hadde hørt at du kunne ligge i fjæresteinene og fotografere ærfuglene på kort avstand, ja, jeg hørte om de som brukte 14-24 mm! Ryktene var sanne! Det var utrolig artig å kunne ligge helt i vannkanten med så lav kameravinkel som mulig. Ærfuglene kom tett inntil, samtidig som du kunne få med omgivelser og himmel. En stor utfordring var å få rett horisont, men heldigvis lar det seg rette i ettertid. Takk til Edvard Bergene for gode råd og tips! Det nest siste bildet er tatt med 80-400 mm, mens de andre er tatt med 24-70 mm.
Straumen (“The strong current”) at the island Inderøya in Nord-Trøndelag county is famous for the eider ducks staying in the strong tidal current during winter. Rumors told you could lie in the tidal zone taking pictures of the eider ducks at close distance. I even heard that some used a 14-24mm! Rumors were true! It was great fun to lie close to the seashore using a low camera angle. The eiders passed at close distance, and with the wide angle the environment and the sky could also be included in the image. To avoid tilting of the horizon was a challenge but luckily this can be dealt with in post-processing. Thanks to Edvard Bergene for info and suggestions.
