These images of the eagle owl were shot during two occasions in 2013, one in June (the first six images) and another in August when the eggs had been hatched (the last six images). We did no attempt to approach the nest and all images were shot from a hide using bate at safe distance from the nest. We entered the hides between 8-9 PM and the first birds usually arrived around 10 PM. Images were shot between 10 and after midnight. Usually the eagle owl will have two eggs but this year we could only see one youngster. If there was another one in the nest he was probably eaten by his older and bigger brother or sister. The young one was rather aggressive. One of the adults arrived at the bate first and ate a lot but when the young arrived the parent bird was immediately forced to leave! A fascinating bird to experience during summer nights.
